Getting Involved Part One

Slide 7:

Share with your seatmate What do you FEEL when you hear these words?

Slide 8:

Why do you NOT share? Why do YOU share? It’s important to share the Gospel always.

Why evangelize :

Why evangelize Jesus exemplified it. (Mark 1:38) Jesus told us to do it. (Mark 16:15) It’s the only way for Jesus to change lives. (Galatians 3:22) People wouldn’t know unless we tell them about Jesus. (Romans 10:14-15; Acts 4:12) Time will come when it will no longer be possible to tell them about Jesus! (John 9:4; Heb 9:27)

Slide 10:

Who should do the evangelizing? Ephesians 4:11-13 11 It was he who gave some to be apostles, some to be prophets, some to be evangelists, and some to be pastors and teachers, 12 to prepare God's people for works of service, so that the body of Christ may be built up 13 until we all reach unity in the faith and in the knowledge of the Son of God and become mature, attaining to the whole measure of the fullness of Christ.

1 Corinthians 12:12-13 12 The body is a unit, though it is made up of many parts; and though all its parts are many, they form one body. So it is with Christ. 13 For we were all baptized by one Spirit into one body – whether Jews or Greeks, slave or free – and we were all given the one Spirit to drink.

Slide 62:

The Gift of the Holy Spirit MISSING PEACE

Slide 63:

Two Aspects of the Christian Life GRACE Christ died for me FORGIVENESS I died with Christ FREEDOM

Titus 3:4-7 :

Titus 3:4-7 4 But when the kindness and love of God our Savior appeared, 5 he saved us, not because of righteous things we had done, but because of his mercy. He saved us through the washing of rebirth and renewal by the Holy Spirit, 6 whom he poured out on us generously through Jesus Christ our Savior, 7 so that, having been justified by his grace, we might become heirs having the hope of eternal life.

Ephesians 2:8-10 :

Ephesians 2:8-10 8 For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith – and this not from yourselves, it is the gift of God – 9 not by works, so that no one can boast. 10 For we are God's workmanship, created in Christ Jesus to do good works, which God prepared in advance for us to do.

Philippians 2:12-13 :

Philippians 2:12-13 12 Therefore, my dear friends, as you have always obeyed – not only in my presence, but now much more in my absence – continue to work out your salvation with fear and trembling, 13 for it is God who works in you to will and to act according to his good purpose.

Slide 67:
