History of Microsoft When anyone hears the name Microsoft to think of one person: Bill Gates, the founder of  the company. The History of Microsoft began on April 4, 1975, when it was founded by Bill Gates and Paul Allen In Albuquerque. In 1980’s they partnershiped with IBM and they offered a new OS for their computers called OS/2.
