An Afterword:

An Afterword The Training Within Industry Service was a WWII government agency whose mission was to help industry help itself to produce more materiel faster than the Axis powers. The TWI Service was so successful that many say the war was won in the factory as well as on the battlefield. After the war, TWI was introduced to many countries around the world to help them rebuild their industrial base. Of particular note is that TWI was made a national program in Japan and survives to this date. Toyota adopted the program in the early 1950’s and TWI is regarded as having been part of the foundation that produced the Toyota Production System
