If the customer changes their mind and does not wish to purchase the product, it still needs to be entered and sent to lost business. Once the line is entered, your screen should look somewhat similar to the screen below. Slide 3: Next notes should be added to the order with specifics if they are know. The name of the competitor, the competitors price, etc are entered here. Notes can be accessed by pressing Shift+F10 twice. Please notice the 4 fields with the values of "no, no, yes, no" default to there correct values so no changes are needed. Slide 4: After entering notes the order is ready to be sent to lost business. Please notice that individual line(s) can be sent to lost business or entire orders encompassing every line. In this scenario, we are sending the entire order to lost business. This is done by entering the Header screen with the F6 key. From there CTR-D brings up the following screen were the appropriate lost business reason is entered. Slide 5: The lost business is now recorded and the order is cancelled. In the following example a customer calls and want 150 Grease Seals while only 139 are available. The customer only wants the 139 since that is all we have in stock. Slide 8: Create a line on the order for the exact number you have in stock and are going to ship. Slide 9: Next enter a line for the additional items the customer would have bought had they been in stock. In this case, 11. Slide 10: Now line 2 needs to be sent to lost business for the appropriate reason: B – Back Order Slide 11: Now the 11 parts that would have been sold are recorded in the system as lost business.
