We are troubled on every side, yet not distressed; we are perplexed, but not in despair; persecuted, but not forsaken; cast down, but not destroyed.' How would you turn back a life of defeat, turmoil and despair into one of triumph, peace and joy. Apostle Paul advise the early Christians in 2 Corinthians 4:7-9 Paul was imprisoned, beaten, shipwrecked and endured hardship and pain. And what did he say according to those verses? The power to get through those tough times is 'not of ourselves,' we are just 'earthen vessels.' He says that God gives us the power to endure distress and not be crushed, to be troubled with uncertainty and not despair, to suffer mistreatment with the confidence that we are not alone and be struck down, but get right up again.Slide14: Then Paul goes on to encourage, 'For which cause we faint not; but though our outward man perish, yet the inward man is renewed day by day. For our light affliction, which is but for a moment, worketh for us a far more exceeding and eternal weight of glory.' 2 Corinthians 16-17 He can help you persevere….. He can raise you up more than you can be.Slide5: When I am down and, oh my soul, so weary; When troubles come and my heart burdened be;Slide11: Then, I am still and wait here in the silence, Until you come and sit awhile with me.Slide8: You raise me up, so I can stand on mountains; You raise me up, to walk on stormy seas;Slide6: I am strong, when I am on your shoulders; You raise me up: to more than I can be.Slide24: 'Out of the depths have I cried unto thee, O LORD. Lord, hear my voice: let thine ears be attentive to the voice of my supplications. If thou, LORD, shouldest mark iniquities, O Lord, who shall stand? But there is forgiveness with thee, that thou mayest be feared. I wait for the LORD, my soul doth wait, and in his word do I hope.' Psalm 130:1-5 'My sheep hear my voice. I know them, and they follow me. I give them eternal life, and they will never perish. No one will snatch them out of my hand.' ( John 10:27-28)Slide16: You raise me up, so I can stand on mountains; You raise me up, to walk on stormy seas; I am strong, when I am on your shoulders; You raise me up: To more than I can be. You raise me up, so I can stand on mountains; You raise me up, to walk on stormy seas; I am strong, when I am on your shoulders; You raise me up: to more than I can be.Slide23: You raise me up, so I can stand on mountains; You raise me up, to walk on stormy seas; I am strong, when I am on your shoulders; You raise me up: To more than I can be.Slide13: To God Be the Glory Forever and Ever.
