Rape: 

Rape An act of violence using sex as a weapon Sexual assault involves the threat of force and some form of penetration of a body cavity, using the penis, fingers or an object

Rape: 

Rape Done against a person’s will A premeditated act usually committed by people known to the victim

Forms of Rape: 

Forms of Rape Marital Rape Rape of a wife by her husband Date Rape/Acquaintance Rape When a girl is raped by her boyfriend, a casual acquaintance or even a friend

Sexual Harassment: 

Sexual Harassment Unwanted or unwelcome physical or verbal sexual attention from another person What may be harassment for one person may not be considered harassment by another The sexual harasser is not always after sex, although it is a primary motivation in most cases

Sexual Harassment (cont.) The sexual harasser is usually in a position of power (boss, professor) He uses his position to belittle, degrade, or humiliate you

Child Abuse: 

Child Abuse Usually done by people who have access to children Can be family friends, doctors, dentists, teachers, caregivers

Forms of Child Abuse Prolonged kissing Sexually suggestive language Glances Petting Vaginal intercourse Anal intercourse Oral sex

Incest : 

Incest Traditionally defined as sexual contact between family members Today, most incest cases occur between older male relatives and younger female children of the family

Incest (cont.) The perpetrator is usually a trusted family member The child is powerless in the relationship
