Steven Roberts Jr. of St. Louis was proud to co-sponsor HB 1255 – legislation that would have changed the definition of “adult” to anyone over the age of 18, and that would have required children not certified as adults to be prosecuted for crimes at the juvenile court level.

Rep. Steven Roberts of St. Louis The bill also specified that any offender under 18 may be detained in an adult jail – unless, of course, that particular individual was certified as an adult. A senate version of the bill was passed near the end of the 2018 Session.
