Using CUNA’s Webinars Video 2: How to Get Lists of Courses/Webinars and How to Enroll in Individual Courses

Types of Courses Available :

Types of Courses Available In these instructional videos, we will usually refer to all the courses as “webinars” or “courses.” However, there are actually three types of presentations: Webinars – Generally 30 minutes to 2 hours in length. Usually features a speaker and a PowerPoint presentation. May include several speakers. Audioconferences – About the same length as webinars, and similar in format. However, you only receive the audio portion of the event. There is no visual element, other than handouts. E-Schools – similar to webinars, but there are a series of classes over a period of weeks. Usually, there is the option of taking an exam at the end and obtaining certification. (Generally, it’s possible to enroll in one class in the series, if you don’t want to complete the whole e-school.)

Two Formats :

Two Formats Live events – participants join the webinar at a specific time, along with other CU people from around the nation. The advantage is that you have the opportunity to interact with the speaker and ask questions. The disadvantage is that you have to be available at a specified time and cannot turn the presentation on and off if something interrupts you. Archived events – About two days after a live event, it will be made available as a recording. You can access it any time over the following six months. The disadvantage of a recording is that you cannot interact with the speaker. The advantage is that you can view the course on your own time schedule and can pause it when you have to stop to serve a member, etc. Also, you can fast forward past introductory sections and parts that are less pertinent to your position.
