Tools >> Options >> Security >> Captions >> Scripts
Reminder: CC files must have the same name as the video. Remove the _asf and _smi from both files.

Font Size
Open the CC file in a text editing program like Notepad
Locate the line of code that indicates “font size”
Increase the font size from 10 to 30 (or whatever you prefer)
Save the CC file
