Slide 3: It could be one of the biggest finds in the history of space research – water on the moon. Proof of this comes from India’s own Chandrayaan satellite before it was aborted. The examinations have found clear evidence of water there and possibly formed by the solar wind. Water on the moon.. Water on the moon.. : Water on the moon.. Water molecules in gaseous form have been reported simultaneously by two other spacecrafts Cassini and High impact, but the clincher came from India’s moon mission. Slide 6: Speech and voice synthesizer for Neurological Impairments. Invented by Michael Callahan. He lost his ability to speak at 17, as a result of skateboarding accident. The Audeo.. The Audeo.. : The Audeo.. The Audeo is a speech synthesizer to help those who’s neurological pathways from the brain to the lungs and speech muscles are impaired, though the pathways from the brain to the vocal cords are undamaged. The Audeo.. : The Audeo.. The device lifts electrical signals from the cords with three electrodes at the neck, which send the signals to a computer that translates them into audible speech sounding through the computer’s speakers. Slide 9: Designed by British team under the leadership of Richard Noble that claimed the land speed record of 763 mph in 1997. Now, they have invented a car that is capable of reaching 1000 mph, known as Bloodhound. This new car will be powered by a rocket bolted to a Euro fighter – Typhoon jet engine. Supersonic car.. Supersonic car.. : Supersonic car.. 12.8 m long; 6.4 ton Bloodhound SSC will be expected to travel faster than a bullet fired from a handgun(MAGNUM). Supersonic car.. : Supersonic car.. Its 900 mm diameter wheels will spin so fast, they will have to be made from a high grade Titanium to prevent them from flying apart. It can accelerate from 0 to 1050 mph in just 40 sec. Slide 13: Dr. Joseph Rizzo and professor John Wyatt co-founded the Boston Retinal Implant Project(BRIP). The Retinal Implant Research Group has developed a micro electronic retinal implant to restore vision to patients with age–related macular degeneration and blindness. A microchip will be implanted into the patient’s eye ball. Electric eye.. Slide 14: A pair of glasses equipped with a tiny camera will transmit information to that microchip that will pass along recognizable visual information to the human brain, enough information to allow a blind person to navigate the room or recognize objects. Electric eye.. Slide 15: The collaboration was initiated between the Massachusetts Eye and Ear infirmary, Harvard Medical school and the Massachusetts Institute of Technology. Electric eye.. Slide 16: Sixth sense technology invented by ‘Pranav Mistry’. ‘Sixth sense’ is a wearable gestural interface that arguments the physical world around us with digital information and lets us use natural hand gestures to interact with that information. Integrating information with the real world PRANAV MISTRY : PRANAV MISTRY Slide 18: The sixth sense prototype is comprised of a pocket projector, a mirror and a camera. Slide 19: The hardware components are coupled in a pendent like mobile wearable device. Both the projector and the camera are connected to the mobile computing device in the user’s pocket. Integrating information with the real world Slide 20: The projector projects the visual information enabling surfaces, walls and physical objects around us to be used as interfaces. The camera recognizes and tracks user’s hand gestures and physical objects using computer vision based techniques. Integrating information with the real world Slide 21: The software program processes the video stream data captured by the camera and tracks the locations of the colored markers at the tip of the fingers using simple-computer vision techniques.
