INTRODUCTION:

INTRODUCTION These chips don’t have global clock. Struggle for the improvement in the microprocessor’s performance /functioning. Control mechanism instead of Global clock. Initiating a process, waiting for completion and then initiating next one.

Basic concept of Clock:

Basic concept of Clock It is a tiny crystal oscillator. Clock speed can be expressed in terms of GHz & MHz . One advantage of clock is that clock signals to various components inside a chip when input & output can be determined very easy.

Synchronous chips:

Synchronous chips Longest path determines the minimum clock period. Dissipation of energy for each clock cycle. EMI is more in synchronous elements.

Advantages of clock less chips High speed. The ability to provide superior encryption. Low power consumption. Less electro magnetic noise. It is very flexible. No Clock skew.

Conclusion This is a very new area of research and design and testing but if more scientists and engineers are dedicated to this, then for surely it with the future technology for mobile electronic devices.
