Success in the ministry is basedon the ability to raise upsuccessors - therefore successwithout raising successors is afailure.

Slide 9:

A leaders effectiveness is greatly influenced by those closest to him Relationship is the foundation stone to obtaining the best out of people. You have to win their hearts before you can win their hands As the Senior Pastor - the rest of the leadership must be totally committed to Church growth When people follow aleader because theywant to - he is onhis way to greatachievement.

Restrictive and outdated or non-revised Church Laws hinder growth :

Restrictive and outdated or non-revised Church Laws hinder growth Church laws (if existing) should continuously be revised to be vision supportive. Church laws must never be elevated above the Word of God. The Word of God must be accepted as the final determinant of church structures

Internal resistance to change - anti-leaders hinder growth :

If the prayer meetings of a church is viewed as inspiring to attend it has a significant impact on both the the quality and quantity of a church

Restrictive or outdated Church structures hinder growth :

Restrictive or outdated Church structures hinder growth This type of structure is found in the majority of churches in most denominations. It could be either a board member with or without specific function, or a board member without specific function These board members would not necessary be spiritually functional members. Powerful alternative church structures include…

Slide 21:

Christian A. Swarz in his book “Natural Church Development (P28) states: “Our research confirmed for the first time an extremely negative relationship between traditionalism and both growth and quality within the church” Church structures should purposely be designed to improve Church growth possibility and the proper utilization of the people giftings of a congregation

Financial barriers hinder growth :

Financial barriers hinder growth Careful planning of the annual budget is imperative. Integrity should be beyond question The vision of the church should receive strong financial support along with leadership training Giving churches are blessed churches

Lacking in technological systems hinder growth :

Lacking in technological systems hinder growth Modern technology today incorporates the most amazing supportive research materials, equipment and word processing programs Those who have not yettaken the plunge to become computer literate should do that as soon as possible All full-time church staff should be trained in this field

High quality and inspiring worship services :

High quality and inspiring worship services It is a fact that people attending trulyinspiring church services also typicallyindicate that going to church is apleasure According to Christian A. Schwarz peopleassume that so-called “seeker services”is a universal “church growth” feature - but it can be proved that it is not. Scientific research shows that services may be liturgical or free, and the language “churchy” or “secular” - It makes no difference to church growth Music praise and worship can also be church growth supportive or church growth destructive
