INTRODUCTION:

INTRODUCTION Choking is the blockage of upper airway by food or other objects, which prevents a person from breathing effectively.

DEFINITION:

DEFINITION Partial or complete obstruction of the airway due to inhaled foreign body resulting in coughing, gagging or wheezing and even unconsciousness.

PREVENTION OF CHOKING IN CHILDREN Keep chunks of meat / grapes or hard candy & other food that children may choke on , OUT OF REACH NUTS should NOT BE GIVEN to children under the age of SEVEN Cut firmer foods into SMALL PIECES before feeding them to a small child.
