Postal Consignment Declaration Emirates Post sends the postal consignment information to Dubai Customs. Clearance Status Information Dubai Customs generates Customs Bills and performs Inspection manually and then passes the clearance status back to Emirates Post. FTP communication is used for exchanging the information.

Manifest Declaration Courier companies declare the manifests for the shipments arriving or transferring through Dubai well in advance of the shipments arrival with the data they receive from the loading port. Acknowledgement and Clearance Dubai Customs acknowledges the receipt of manifest information through electronic feedback and then subsequently clears the shipments also electronically before their actual arrival. Checks are also performed against Customs defined filters for restricted items and traders before clearing the shipments electronically.

The communication is IBM proprietary queuing technology over TCP/IP. AMTrix AMTrix is in use for enabling all business-to-business integrations including EDI. AMTrix is used for data translation and communication needs of these integrations. E-mail communication is used for all data exchanges with Shipping Lines and Agents. FTP communication is so far used for exchanging data with other government agencies over GIN (Government Information Network).
