DIFFUSION OF NEWS INTRODUCTION Diffusion of news: diffusion mean spread thinly or widely. It means to diffuse the news which is not concentrated.

DIFFUSION OF NEWS IN MEDIA : 

DIFFUSION OF NEWS IN MEDIA Diffusion of news is assessed by Testing a person’s ability to recall a news item. However, research has shown that diffusion conditioned by four variables. 1] How much people know about a news items. 2] Salience of the item. 3] How much has been conveyed about it. 4] Whether the news has come from the media or has been acquired through word of mouth.

STEAGES OF DIFFUSION OF NEWS : 

STEAGES OF DIFFUSION OF NEWS The 1st stage of news diffusion :- In the beginning it is very slow. The 2nd stage will increase the speed. The 3rd stage is of the rate of motion or activity.

DIFFUSION OF NEWS EVENT : 

DIFFUSION OF NEWS EVENT Diffusion of news event which is published in journalism quarterly 1964. for e.g. :- when Mrs. Indira Gandhi was assassinated on October 31st 1904, the news has been spread rapidly. When the important news event is low, at that time people not discuss among themselves previously there were no internet as freely accessible as it is now.

SELECTION 0F NEWS ITEM : 

SELECTION 0F NEWS ITEM When some prominent is low to the people, they discuss among themselves, as there is no rapid diffusion. Some news diffusion is influenced, some news is spread incomplete, some news is very slow. The most important thing when selecting the news item, is more important because hard is more important because is it unexpected & some soft news less salience value.

REPORTERS FOUND DIFFUSION OF NEWS Reporter findings here from an audience survey in Mumbai of the diffusion of a spectacular news event, the terrorist attacks on Mumbai on 26 November 2008. This news event was perceived as very salient, and it diffused rapidly. The first terrorist attack occurred at 10.30 p.m (Mumbai time) within half an hours almost all respondents had heard about the news event.

Individuals reacted to this news in an emotional way, with many respondents praying, participating in a memorial event for the victims, contributing money and donating blood. The terrorist attacks also evoked a strong sense of patriotism. Compared to the news events studied in 32 previous investigations, the November 26 terrorist attacks caused stronger, and more emotional, audience reactions.

CONCLUSION : 

CONCLUSION Overall, the most prominent salience news should be very clear & proven. The oral diffusion of news is large in area or scope than any other form. Due to the diffusion of news there are barriers which crate wrong thinking in the minds of the people.
