socio-Psy barrier Self-centered attitude-point of view of our own interest Group identification-sense of belongingness to a group-family, relatives, city influence our values& opinion Selective perception-we see,read or hear accn to our needs,interest or experience Defensiveness-we feel threateaned by a message ,we becomes defencive that reduce understanding-complaint Resistance to change-strongly resist new ideas Closed mind-limited intellctual background,limited reading & narrow interest-frustraction of young managers Filtering-process of reducing the details of message/colours it/edit accn to his understanding-org politics withholding information by one manager Status block-a boss who is conscious of status finds it diffficult to receive any suggeestions from subordinate

Barriers-physical/mechanical Due to faulty mechanical arrangements Disturb the concentration of sender or receiver so prevents focusing on topic Flow of message is blocked/hindered/disturbed/damaged/distorted information

Physical/mechanical barriers : 

Physical/mechanical barriers Noise-flow of communication is blocked due to noise-human noise, noise due to traffic, typewriters sound ,cooler noise, noise in factories, faulty telephone lines, mental tension ------------------------------------ Poor lighting-is imp cause for written or gestural communication ---------------------------- Time & distance-lack of facilities in remote areas ,change in shifts in factories -------------------------- Defects in medium-telephone or telex machine malfunctioning ,loudspeaker or mike improper work, --------------------------- Excessive message-if heard beyond brain fatigue or brain capacitythan effictive listening is not possible

semantic Multiple meaning words-words have different Meaning in different context some times it becomes difficult for sender that receiver is understanding &interpret in the same manner in which he sends the message Eg run have more than 110 meaning used in diffnt context
