Ethics : 

Ethics Comes from Greek word “ethos” meaning character or custom Focus is on character or what it means to be a good person Social rules that govern and limit our conduct Morality is the science of right and wrong Morality-a person’s or group’s standards of right/wrong, good/bad

Business and Organizational Ethics : 

Business and Organizational Ethics Business Ethics is the study of right/wrong, good/bad regarding human conduct in a business context Business-any organization which provides goods or services for profit Deontological or Nonconsequential approaches look for a guiding principle to help determine right and wrong Teleological or consequential approaches ask whether an action or process will result in good or bad consequences or ends

Personal Vs. Business Ethics : 

Personal Vs. Business Ethics The only business ethic is to make as much profit as possible In business you do whatever you have to do to survive Our Claim-There is a direct relationship between personal and business ethics Giving serious thought and study to ethics prepares people for making better moral decisions in an organizational setting than those who have not
