What is a tsunami : 

What is a tsunami A tsunami is a series of water waves caused by the displacement of a large volume of a body of water, such as an ocean or a lake. Due to the immense volumes of water and energy involved, tsunamis can devastate coastal regions. Casualties can be high because the waves move faster than humans can run.

“Tsunami” is of Japanese Origin :

The resulting wave can be hundred of miles long and can reach heights of up to 34 ft. The waves travel faster than a commercial jet plane.

What do we do when it happens? : 

What do we do when it happens? The first hit is not the worst, so beware. Stay away from shore. Everything happens in seconds don’t waist time. Stay away from large buildings and flyovers as they may collapse on you. Follow instructions from military or police to assembly areas. Have an emergency kit ready at home if you live in a high risk area with long life food, drink and blankets. Never go back to shore unless you are told to do so.
