This ‘electronic waste’ contains toxic metals like lead, mercury and release carcinogen fumes when disposed off improperly

e-waste in India 3,30,000 tones of e-waste generated in India in 2007 according to a survey done by MAIT
Only 5-10% of the waste is disposed in safe manner & 90-95% finds its way to junk-dealers(unsafe disposal)
70% e-waste generated by companies & 15% by individuals
