Introduction : 8 Introduction Putting off a task which needs to be done We may disguise avoidance by being very busy We may find things to do that are interesting or even useful, but don't contribute towards the main goal It may involve feelings of anxiety, stress, guilt, shame and depression Victims : Victims Procrastination afflicts millions of people and almost always has negative effects on productivity and sense of well-being. Although everyone procrastinates in his/her own way, it can best be defined as delaying required or desired tasks by choosing other activities. Get Rid of Fear Growing experiences aren’t always fun, but they happen. 3. Turn Off Distractions Turn off all distractions like checking mail, answering phone &Focus on the task at hand. 4. Daily Plan & Weekly Plan Writing a quick schedule for tomorrow.. on normal paper in a desktop calendar!?! 5. Do the Most Profitable Activities First Find the most profitable activity and do it first 6. Reward Yourself Set milestones and reward yourself. 7. Accountability Assign your own public accountability. Other tips… : Other tips… Do’s: Change your thoughts Engage in physical activity (exercise) Give yourself some alone time (15 – 30 min. without distractions) Increase alertness by changing your position or stretching for a few minutes (important thing is movement!)
