Owning a Portable Hot Tub :

Owning a Portable Hot Tub Technically a hot tub that you can unplug and move to another location is considered a portable hot tub. Even though some can weigh one thousand pounds plus and cannot fit through the doorway of a house, still should be considered portable. A non-portable hot tub would be considered as made from a permanently seated design like cement. This type of hot tub you find commonly in hotels, hot tubs that are designed right into the pool room floor and cannot be moved. Portable hot tubs come in many shapes and sizes. One of the more unique models would the inflatable kind. Usually made from a durable vinyl and are inflatable. This means you can fold them up and take them with you and set them up virtually anywhere. They are convenient because they can plug into a normal 110 volt outlet, which means it will save on the electricity bill as well. Larger scale portable hot tubs need to be powered by a 220-240volt outlet and involve installing a new circuit in the breaker box.

Not only are the inflatable models more portable but they are much easier to keep clean. Since they are not a more permanent structure you don’t need to invest in a whole lot of chemicals. You only need to make sure the water gets changed and the interior gets scrubbed out. It probably would be a good idea to keep water in an inflatable hot tub consistently since it is, only inflatable; seals have potential to wear down from holding so much water pressure constantly. If you purchase the large models you need to keep the chemicals up to date always since they are on almost all the time and have water in them. This may cost a little bit more but it is also part of the convenience of keeping hot water available all the time. :

Heat and moisture make perfect breeding ground for bacteria and sickness, cleanliness is a very important part of owning either model that you select. Some larger model hot tubs become not so portable anymore because some people build structures around them. Some made of only wood, but others made of brick or stone. This makes them very hard to move and hard to access the interior control panels or tubing for maintenance. Although this is an excellent home improvement and has a great look to it, if you make changes to the exterior and build around your hot tub, make sure you have some sort of access if it needs repair while at the same time not putting your hot tub in a position that you might get tired of after a few months. Don’t sell yourself short. If you think you want a larger model, research the costs that it will take to have it installed properly and the estimate increase in your electricity bill. Larger models have custom fitting seats for your body. Inflatable vinyl hot tubs are less luxury and more for convenience. They are still an excellent purchase for hydrotherapy and are quite comfortable with cushion like seating.
