Abnormality can be defined as a deviance from normality. Genius is also a deviation from normality but is not considered abnormal. Value judgments distinguish normality from abnormality. This study was undertaken to realize the relationship between creativity and abnormality. The grounded theory analysis of the prologue of the book- A Beautiful Mind (Prologue) was thus done for the same.Slide 4: This book tells the story of John Nash Jr. based on interviews and available documents. Story of Mathematical Genius who rose to fame due to his creativity; finally engulfed by the same and trapped within his own mind. It focuses on his fight to retain his mental capacity and have his mental illness go into mysterious remission. He suffered from schizophrenia a disorder that affects 1% of the total population. It is one of the most severe and handicapping mental disorder’s. It is characterized by a loss of touch with reality.Slide 5: A psychotic mental disorder it is characterized by symptoms of thought, behavior and social problems. This research paper uses double Hermaneumatics . The interpretations are guided by the fact that I have read the whole book.Methodology: MethodologySlide 7: Method of analysis used – Grounded Theory It takes into account the whole data as opposed to a single variable. Case oriented perspective. It was given by Strauss. It leads to the fragmentation of data. Following three carefully constructed steps guarantees the outcome of a good theory.Slide 8: The three steps are as follows- Open coding Axial Coding Selective CodingResults and Discussion : Results and DiscussionSlide 10: A total of 63 Open Codes were formed.
