SAVE WATER A CORPORATE SOCIAL RESPONABILITY By: Pradyuth Dutta

PowerPoint Presentation:

How to make it happen?

Waterless microbial blocks:

Waterless microbial blocks

Microbiological Urinal blocks :

Microbiological Urinal blocks Presence of ammonia, phosphate, calcium and magnesium in urine and water used for flushing leads to precipitation of minerals. These precipitates accumulate and block drainage pipes fixed to urinals. Microbial blocks are biodegradable, non-caustic and harmless to urinals and plumbing systems. Microbes in the bio blocks digest organic urine crystals rapidly, thereby removing the yellow scaling and keeping urinal drain lines running freely.

Microbiological Urinal blocks:

Microbiological Urinal blocks These blocks contain a number of active ingredients, including microbial spores and surfactants that are used to tackle uric acid and odour. It reduce water usage, more hygienic and with the water supply being turned off you reduce the chance of damp areas that are the main source of bacteria growth. The efficiency of the tablet lasts for around 1200 uses or for an large commercial establishment.

Totally Biodegradable:

Totally Biodegradable

Regular problems:

Regular problems Heavy usage of water in urinals Stinking washrooms Drainage block and corroding pipes fixed to urinals. Replacement costs for the traps. PDCB block used as a masking agent contains harmful chemicals and is water pollutant

Paradichlorobenzene (PDCB) Blocks :

Paradichlorobenzene (PDCB) Blocks Chemical used is harmful to human beings Carcinogenic and a water- pollutant

Benefits :

Benefits Water usage can be reduced by 90% Turns washrooms healthier and hygienic It saves our money, time and efforts. Saves electricity costs It is suitable for all types of urinals, stainless steel, porcelain, and ceramic troughs Additional savings can be expected from reduced maintenance costs for cisterns and drains, and from the elimination of automatic sanitizers. Price range of Rs. 140 per block.

FACTS:

FACTS By flushing a men’s urinal we waste 100,000 liters of drinking water per year An sensor operated urinal use 0.3 gallons of water per flush 1gallon=3.78 liters 0.3 gallon= 1.13 liters However, the bio block armed urinal would still require 8 litres of water flushed down everyday as the bacteria needs moisture to breed and multiply in case the quantity of urine isn't enough NB: When using Bio Blocks avoid the use of bleach or caustic/alkaline based cleaning chemicals as these will affect the performance of the Bio Block
