WEAKNESSESS A dud or two from disaster Go-it alone designs (in house product design and engineering), increase in costs Reliance on smaller number of products ‘Little works of art’ forces ODMs to change their ways of working – an inconvenience in the short run – makes it difficult to work with others Unable to work closely with ODMs due to guarded product design – A team engineers don’t like working with Apple – used for peripheral jobs
