Liposomes:
Liposomes Objective s :- To develop the ability to prepare liposomes To develop the ability to determine the globule size of liposomes Pre-requisite: - Knowledge about preparation of liposomes Different methods of preparation of liposomes Stability of liposomes
Liposomes:
Liposomes Theory:- Definition Method of preparation 1. Physical dispersion 2. Solvent dispersion 3. Detergent solubilization Characterization of liposomes Applications of liposomes
Liposomes:
Liposomes Apparatus:- RBF, measuring cylinder, slides, cover slip Chemicals:- Methanol, chloroform, soya lecithin, cholesterol, salicylic acid Instrument:- Microscope
Liposomes:
Liposomes Formula:- Sr. no. Ingredient Quantity 1. Salicylic acid 50 mg 2. Methanol 1 ml 3. Chloroform 2 ml 4. Soya lecithin 70 mg 5. Cholesterol 30 mg 6. Distilled water / Phosphate buffer ph 5.5 Q.S. (10 ml)
Liposomes:
Liposomes Procedure:- Soya lecithin:cholesterol (70:30) + chloroform:methanol (2:1) +Drug added into 250 ml RBF Organic solvent was evaporated using hand shaking method to form thin film Film was hydrated using distilled water or phosphate buffer of ph 5.5 Above solution was centrifuged for 2 hours
