Circle Most Expensive Item and Equation (Step 2)::

Circle Most Expensive Item and Equation (Step 2): 3. Nike CTR360 Maestri II FG - White/Metallic Platinum/Imperial Purple/Black Firm Ground Soccer – $ 179.99 Tax : $12.60 Total : $192.59 Cost of item = c Budget = b 4 c + 80 = b  (4 x 192.59 ) + 80 = b  770.36 + 80 = b  $850.36 = b = budget

Working for the item and equation (Step 3)::

Working for the item and equation (Step 3 ): If every $20 in your budget represents 3 hours of after-school lawn-mowing, how many hours of lawn-mowing must you do to earn enough money for your budget ? $850.36 rounded up to next 20 $860 = budget = b s = Every $20 in my budget that represents 3 hours of after school lawn mowing H = How many hours of lawn-mowing must you do to earn enough money for my budget (b / s) = H 860/20 = 43 CHECK! 43 x 20 = 860 = H / s = b

Cost of all items in original shopping list ( included sales tax) and determined percent more or less than the total cost of your list is compared to the amount that you budgeted. (Step 4): :

Cost of all items in original shopping list ( included sales tax) and determined percent more or less than the total cost of your list is compared to the amount that you budgeted. (Step 4): 1. Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 (Xbox 360) – $59.96 Tax: $4.20 Total: $64.16 2. Xbox 360 Live 12-Month Gold Card (Xbox 360) - $54.96 Tax: $3.85 Total: $ 58.81 3. Nike Mercurial Vapor VII FG - Black/Volt/Dark Shadow Firm Ground Soccer Shoes - $169.99 Tax: $11.90 Total: $181.89 _________________________________________________________________________________________________________ Final Total: $497.45 This is less than my budget. A 58.499% DECREASE (rounded up to nearest thousands place ) My budget = $850.36  to  $497.45 = Total cost of list = Calculations: 497.45 x 100 / 850.36 = Percent Change = Budget to Total C ost of List

Reflection (Step 5)::

Reflection (Step 5): My budget is a realistic amount of money to earn over a time period such as Summer Break if I worked for 3 hours a day for $20. This would mean I would have to work about 43 days to reach my budget. After completing steps 1-4 I would not have changed any items because I would have redo various calculations. This project has helped me to realize many things about the cost of certain materials. First, that instead of earning $20 for mowing lawns for 3 hours, I would rather ask for $20 per lawn. By doing this I could probably reach my budget in half the time. Second, that most XBOXlive is actually quite expensive. Third, that the cleats I want cost somewhat of a significant amount of money. Fourth, that if I ever spend even a bit of this money along the way of raising this budget, then I have to work really hard and make up for it. I believe I could think of much better ways of spending this money, however there isn’t too much stuff that I could think of that isn’t on the list that I would want.
