A story about my mother and how she so loved the beauty of flowers and fields. As she got older she so wanted flowers from her loved one, but did not receive any, that made her sad.

My mother always planted huge flower gardens, she put them in pots and boxes too, she fed them love. :

She bought seeds and plants, got cuttings too, she gave the flowers to everyone, all were blessed from above. :

She was born in the country, she sowed her seeds as a child and continued to do so as a farmer’s wife. :

Later they moved to town and bought a home, its land was very small, but soon it was covered, with flower life. :

Their names did not matter, together they made beautiful colors, many were like ivy and had to roam. :

Flowers to her were like food and air. Their beauty and fragrance drifted from her yard, into her home. :

In later years she had to live with family to get by, her beloved mate of almost fifty eight years had died. :

She was sad and lonely, she had no flowers to tend, she sat quietly bothering no one, and sometimes she cried. :

As she moved from house to house she could not feel at home, always wondering where next, she may stay. :

She was sad on special days if she did not receive calls, cards or flowers, she would cry, but try to have a happy day. :

At her funeral, her coffin and the ground were covered by many bouquets and sprays of red roses, as people did arrive. :

The ground looked like a blanket of dark red blood. I cried because she would have loved just getting ONE FLOWERwhen she was alive. :
