When I was young I pushed my shoulders back withpride each day, :

Sometimes something did land upon them, but quicklyI would brush it away. :

Often it was only a wisp of my own hair, a cobweb ora loose piece of thread. :

But most of the time there was nothing resting uponmy shoulders, but my  own head. :

Through life they have often been bare and were blistered many times by the sun. :

There were countless bruises and  scrapes upon them as I raced through life just having fun. :

Most of the time they were covered with clothing,they have seen many seasons. :

Sometimes they would rise high with glee other times they would tiredly droop from countless reasons. :

Every day I tried to brace my shoulders to make them strong. :

They would often times take on other people’s hurts when things for them went wrong. :

I could not fix everyone’s hurts and sorrows, sadly I too cried. :

I did the best I could for everyone and in my heart I know I tried. :

I am weary now and sometimes I have a heavy chip upon my shoulder. :

I have felt sorrow and loneliness along with a fear of getting older. :

I have tried to knock off this unwanted weight my shoulders often carry. :

I want to be happy and strong again, I don't want this load to tarry. :

One day I felt something land upon my shoulder, it felt as light as air. :

I tried to brush it away, not even knowing what was there. :

As I did I heard a voice whisper, you can't brush me away, :

I am an Angel. I am here to help you be happy again, and with you I will stay. :
