Presentation Description

Reusable bags are alternative to single-use paper bags. They are often made of fabric such as natural fibers, jute, woven synthetic fibers and thick plastic. They remain durable than disposable plastic bags and can be used again and again. Ultimately reusable shopping bags are eco-friendly because they are multipurpose bags. Around 6 million plastic bags are consumed by each country every year. 70% of the plastic that sinks to the ocean floor will never biodegrade. Wildlife will get tangled with loose plastic and drown. It takes around 1000 years to decompose the plastic bags which are buried under the soil. The production of these bags will take up millions of gallons of oil which can lead to greenhouse gas problem. So, plastic bags are the worst option to choose at store use to several environmental implications.

The Good The Bad Of Reusable Plastic Bags Reusable bags are alternative to single-use paper bags. They are often made of fabric such as natural fbers jute woven synthetic fbers and thick plastic. Around 6 million plastic bags are consumed by each country every year. 70 of the plastic that sinks to the ocean foor will never biodegrade. Wildlife will get tangled with loose plastic and drown. So plastic bags are the worst option to choose at store use to several environmental implications.

Reusable Plastic Bags The standard plastic bags can take a of 20 years to break down into a composition. Recycled and reusable shopping bags are an ideal substitute to standard carry bags. They are the most practical solutions when customers forget to bring a bag to the shops to buy products. Biodegradable shopping bags are diferent and they are made with no polyethylene. Plastic is an essential part of modern life and if it is handled responsibly they can be continued to be useful and convenient. Polypropylene is a material manufactured from recycled plastic. Recycled polypropylene plastic bags wholesale are available to purchase which makes a durable material to be used again and again. Similar to bamboo they can be used to make reusable shopping bags because the material remains water resistant. All reusable bags are eco-friendly based on the reusability. Polypropylene can be recycled and keep the process going on fnding new and functional uses for the plastic material. The reusable bags are not only used for shopping but another task like gardening and storing pet supplies. If the bag is made from a durable material you may use them for years. The polypropylene bags don’t tear and can be washed with cold water. Although they are plastic it is worth investing in them because you won’t throw them way soon. Advantage of Using Reusable Plastic Bags Reusable plastics are bio-plastics and they are made from renewable raw materials and plastics. They are created to minimize pollution and plastic pollutant. These types of plastics will compost after a certain period. The advantage of using reusable bags are given below.

slide 3:

1. They consume minimum energy: The manufacturing process of reusable plastics require a minimal amount of energy. Additionally there is no need for fossil fuels to be recycled. Traditional plastic requires more energy in production and the same time it also requires the burning of fossil fuels. Since less energy is needed so re-usable plastics can be produced and can be used by retail shops. 2. Require less landfll area: Plastics which are non-biodegradable are discarded at landfll area. The land area which had been used for agriculture or residence is then converted to landfll. Instead of them if bio-plastics are used there is no need for more landfll since these plastic gets absorbed into the soil and they can be converted to humus. 3. Reduce carbon emission: One of the main advantages of using reusable bags over plastic shopping bags is the minimal emission of carbon in the air. When compared to manufacturing normal plastics they create four tons of emission. Bio-plastics emit only .8 tons of carbon that can be added to global warming. 4. Recyclable: Bio-degradable plastics can be recycled and are nontoxic because they are free from any chemicals or toxin when compared to another type of plastics. 5. Compostable: The reusable plastics which are manufactured these days are compostable-certifed. They are 100 safe to be used. 6. Soy inks: Reusable bags are not only eco-friendly but are also business- friendly. Soy inks are ideally used for printing logos. This ink does not conduct any major harm it does not contaminate the environment once the bag is discarded.

Disadvantage of Using Reusable Plastics 1. Engineering problems: The bio-plastics are plant-based and they come from organic sources. These organic plants can be sprayed with pesticides which contain chemicals and can be transferred to the fnished product. 2. An occurrence of bacteria: A common issue with these grocery bags is that people tend to reutilize them without cleaning or sanitizing them properly. This can lead to the growth of detrimental bacteria inside the bag. Studies have shown that such bags are the hub for the growth of bacteria named coliform. However the best solution to deal with this problem is to wash the bag regularly. 3. Transmit virus to other people: The reusable bag act as a carrier of the virus to other people and those who touch the bag can become sick. Carrying meat and vegetables in these bags can lead to foodborne illness. Bacteria and viruses remain invisible so wash them regularly. 4. Risk of contamination: The biodegradable plastics should be mixed with common plastics when thrown in the garbage bin. The problem lies people don’t know how to distinguish bio-plastics from the other plastic type. Once the two type of plastic gets mixed bio-plastic will become contaminated and cannot be used anymore. The contaminated plastic will be thrown away and will add to the volume of thrash. 5. Need by industrial composters: The bio-plastics will be needed by industrial composters to turn them into compost. This is to make equipment in some countries can lead to an issue. By the end the bio- plastics which are needed to be processed will not be discarded properly. Biodegradable plastics are popular these days due to increasing awareness of global warming. Despite having disadvantages it is better to focus on

the beneft of using bio-plastics. Educate people about the importance of using them. Reusable bags seem to be the way of future and they can help to fll the gap in stores providing bags which are not harmful to the environment. Reusable plastics can be a good alternative to common plastics and many consumers are seeking them safely to be used.
