See all Premium member Presentation Transcript Devastation in Japan: Devastation in Japan By: Peytonhillis41Slide 2: On March 11 th at 2:36 p.m Japanese Standard Time an 8.9 magnitude earthquake struck Japan on the north coast, Then soon after, a devastating tsunami . This earthquake was the fifth largest ever recorded!!!! Not only were these the only two problems, but two of their nuclear power plants are sending off harmful radiations.Slide 3: * The eye of the stormSlide 4: * Many people try to return home but are left to find just a pile of rubble.Slide 5: * Houses, Bodies, cars, boats, and personal belongings were left floating in the cold waters that flooded the streets.Slide 6: * The Earthquake and tsunami also caused many mini fires that were a major pain for the citizens of Japan.Slide 7: * Almost every store is completely out of medicine, food and water leaving people with NOTHING!!!Slide 8: * The Earthquake caused everything to move over 24cm!!Slide 9: * Many people make SOS on rooftops to try and get help. In this picture the SOS is made out of paper and sheets!Slide 10: * Rescue workers save a young child from a large pile of rubble.Slide 11: * People wait in shelters to decide what will happen next.Slide 12: * A family overlooks the pile of rubble.Slide 13: Want to help? * There are many different ways we can help the people in Japan. There is several organizations collecting small amounts of money to help.
