The Casuarinas College students participate in exchange programs with sister schools worldwide. Camp Pacha Kamaq is Pilar’s new venture and your child can be a part of history in the Camp’s inaugural year!Enrollment: Enrollment We invite boys and girls, ages 14 – 18 from abroad to have a Peruvian experience — Learn Spanish, Play Soccer, complete a Service Learning Project and enjoy a summer full of color, friends, flavor, food, culture, history, and excitement! Four week Sessions: June 16 to July 13 and July 15 to August 17 The $5,000 fee includes: 3 hours of Spanish instruction every week day Spanish Immersion everyday Room and board in a double room Soccer instruction and competition Service Learning project Activities geared to individual and group interests We may visit Paracas for three days and explore Peru ’ s premier natural and heritage site OR a visit to Cusco may be added at the end of your visit for an additional fee. 6 Spanish Immersion Program: Spanish Immersion Program Our specially trained teachers in Spanish and Second language Learning use cultural themes to motivate and captivate our students while they perfect their reading, writing and speaking skills. Javier Oviedo: He has applied his 25 years of experience in teaching language and literature and his superior A-1 rating in International Baccalaureate Language teaching, to the special Spanish Immersion month long program he has developed for the Camp. Fiorella Balbuena: She combines her expertise in teaching Spanish as a second language to high school students with her youthful approach to literature and culture to make this program outstanding and fun for our summer students. Three hours a day may be spent in the classroom, language laboratory, at a museum, a historic colonial area in Lima or exploring the diverse natural environment. Students will have daily opportunities to interact with Casuarinas students and visit their families. Soccer Training: Soccer Training Our Expert Coaches Have: Over 20 years of combined experience Are Certified in the United States Soccer Federation (USSF) and Federacion Peruana de Futbol (FPF) Have Coached in Peru and the USA in all youth and adult categories Special workshop by one of Peru’s leading soccer players Luiz Antonio DaSilva formerly of the Brazil National Team is our Guest Coach & current professional coach in Peru . Juan Rubio: A graduate of Eckert Collage Miami, FL has played for some of Peru’s best soccer teams and is currently coaching for the Lima Soccer Institute , the Franklin Roosevelt School of Lma and Casuarina Collage School . He will be our lead coach. Juan Carlos Rodriguez: An experienced Division I Youth coach and physical trainer he has developed many youth programs for the Superior School of Soccer Coaches of Lima. He will develop a special training program for our summer students in conjunction with DaSilva . New Soccer Turf Field at Ranch Pacha Kamaq: New Soccer Turf Field at Ranch Pacha KamaqSocial Responsibility: Social Responsibility Casuarinas sponsors a center for the prevention of malnutrition in Pamplona Alta, a poor town near Ranch Pacha Kamaq . Our students harvest and take fruits and vegetables from our organic garden at the Ranch. This summer we will plant trees and help with the building of houses for Pamplona Alta’s residents during our 4 weekly service learning hours.Other Activities at Pacha Kamaq: Other Activities at Pacha Kamaq Team Sports such as soccer, volleyball, basketball, field hockey Individual Sports such as Mountain Biking, Hiking, Horseback riding, surfing* Arts and Crafts such as drawing, painting, ceramics and pottery, jewelry making* Drama, Music and Dance such as modern, jazz, ballet and flamenco* Cooking in our new state-of-the-art Kitchen.
