Slide 6:
We celebrate Christmas in December.
Here in Portugal it is celebrated on the night of the 24th – Christmas Eve. Usually, the family gets together for dinner at 9p.m. We can have many traditional dishes – codfish and potatoes, boiled octopus and some roasted meat. Afterwards, we eat lots of desserts such as bread golden slices, custard cream, “aletria”, “sonhos” and a lot of other sweets .
Slide 7:
At midnight, we swap presents and Father Christmas leaves presents for the children. We stay up all night, talking, playing with our presents and having fun till late. On the 25th, we all have breakfast as a family and then at 12.30 p.m. we start preparing lunch, which consists mainly of the leftovers from the night before and maybe some more roasted meat. We spend the afternoon laughing, singing and dancing, eating lots of food and chocolates right into the evening.
Family reunion goes on!
