She again said, 'O Juraij!' He said again, 'O Allah ! My mother (is calling me) and (I am offering) my prayer (what shall I do)?' She again said, 'O Juraij' He again said, 'O Allah! My mother (is calling me) and (I am offering) my prayer. (What shall I do?)' She said, 'O Allah! Do not let Juraij die till he sees the faces of prostitutes.' A shepherdess used to come by his hermitage for grazing her sheep and she gave birth to a child. She was asked whose child that was, and she replied that it was from Juraij and that he had come out from his hermitage. Juraij said, 'Where is that woman who claims that her child is from me?' (When she was brought to him along with the child), Juraij asked the child, 'O Babus, who is your father?' The child replied, 'The shepherd.' C hapter : It is not permissible for a man to wear clothes of yellow colour. 'Abdullah b. 'Amr b. al-As reported: Allah's Messenger (Peace be upon him) saw me wearing two clothes dyed in saffron, whereupon he said: These are the clothes (usually worn by) the non-believers, so do not wear them. Having finished it, he (may peace be up him) faced us and said: “ O people! I am your imam, so do not precede me when doing Ruku, Sujud, rising from them or when reciting taslim” [MUSLIM]Slide 38: MISTAKE #4- NOT ALLOWING WOMEN TO GO TO MOSQUE Chapter : The praying women have been commanded not to precede men in lifting their heads from prostration. l bn Umar reported: I heard the Messenger of Allah (Peace be upon him) say: “When your women seek your permission for going to the mosque, you grant them (permission).” [MUSLIM]Slide 39: MISTAKE #5 - TO MAKE CHILDREN STAND IN SEPARATE ROWS BEHIND THOSE OF MEN (done by both the Imams & people in general) U nauthentic Hadith ref: Prophet (Peace be upon him) used to make children stand behind the rows of men & women stand behind those of children. M usnad Ahmed, Abu Dawud, Al-Baihaqi Shaikh Albani said: “The chain of narrators is weak due to Shahr ibn Hawshab, one of the narrators.”Slide 40: Mistake #6- DOING RUKU AND SAJDAH VERY FAST Z aid ibn Wahab related Hudaifa (RA) : Once saw a man performing his Ruku & sujood so fast. He said to him “you have not performed salat & if you died on such a state you would die on a state opposite to pure fitrah with which Allah sent Muhammad (Peace be upon him). [Al-Bukhari]Slide 41: Prophet (Peace be upon him) said, “A Muslim’s salat is not correct unless he stands after ruku & sits after sujood which is back upright.” [Musnad Ahmad]Slide 42: “GENERAL MISTAKES IN SALAH”Slide 43: Break for Ifthar JOIN US after the Break at 7.15pmSlide 44: NOW, “ETIQUETTES OF ENTERING SOMEBODY’S HOUSE”Slide 45: O you who believe! Enter not houses other than your own, until you have asked permission and greeted those in them; that is better for you, in order that you may remember. [Surah An-Noor 24:27] B ut when you enter the houses, greet one another with a greeting from Allâh (i.e. say: As-Salâmu 'Alaikum wa Rahmatullâhi wa Barakâtuhu – peace be on you and Allâh's Mercy and His Blessings), blessed and good. [SurahAn-Noor 24:61] MISTAKE #1 –ENTERING WITHOUT SALUTATION(SALAM)Slide 46: “ W hen you are greeted with a greeting, greet in return with what is better than it, or (at least) return it equally.” [Surah An-Nisa: 004:086] N arrated Abdullah ibn Amr ibn Al-Aas(RA): A man asked Allah’Messenger(SAWS): Which act in the Islam is best? He(SAWS) replied, “To give food, & to salute everyone, whether you know them or not.” [Al-Bukhari, Muslim] MISTAKE #1 –ENTERING WITHOUT SALUTATION(SALAM) (Continued....)Slide 47: H as the story reached you, of the honoured guests [three angels; Jibrâîl (Gabriel) along with another two] of Ibrâhîm (Abraham)? W hen they came in to him and said: "Salâm (peace be upon you)!" A nas reported that Allah's Apostle (Peace be upon him) forbade that a person should drink while standing. Qatada reported: We said to him: What about eating? Thereupon he (Anas) said: That is even worse and more detestable (abominable). [Muslim] THE ETIQUETTES OF EATING AND DRINKING (Continued....)Slide 59: MISTAKE #7 DRINKING IN A SINGLE BREATH & BREATHING INTO THE VESSEL Chapter : It is repugnant to breathe in a vessel and appreciable to breathe three times outside the vessel in course of drinking. A nas reported that Allah's Messenger (Peace be upon him) breathed three times (outside the vessel) in the course of a drink and said: It is more thirst-quenching, healthier and more wholesome. Anas said: So I also breathe three times in the course of a drink. [Muslim] THE ETIQUETTES OF EATING AND DRINKING (Continued....)Slide 60: MISTAKE #7 DRINKING IN A SINGLE BREATH & BREATHING INTO THE VESSEL Chapter : It is repugnant to breathe in a vessel and appreciable to breathe three times outside the vessel in course of drinking. A bu Qatada reported on the authority of his father that Allah's Apostle (Peace be upon him) forbade breathing in a vessel. THE ETIQUETTES OF EATING AND DRINKING (Continued....)Slide 61: MISTAKE #8 DRINKING DIRECTLY FROM WATERSKIN Chapter : Etiquette relating to eating and drinking. A bu Sa'id Khudri reported that Allah‘s Messenger (Peace he upon him) forbade from turning the water-skins upside down and drinking from their mouths. THE ETIQUETTES OF EATING AND DRINKING (Continued....)Slide 62: MISTAKE #9 EATING & DRINKING IN A GOLDEN OR SILVER VESSEL Chapter : The use of gold and silver vessels to forbidden to men and women and it is also prohibited to drink in them. A bd al-Rahman reported on the authority of his mother's sister Umm Salama who said that Allah's Messenger (Peace be upon him) said, “ He who drank in vessels of gold or silver he in fact drank down in his belly the fire of Hell.” [Muslim] THE ETIQUETTES OF EATING AND DRINKING (Continued....)Slide 63: MISTAKE #10 FORGET THANKING ALLAH N arrated By Abu Umama : Whenever the dining sheet of the Prophet was taken away (i.e., whenever he finished his meal), he used to say, "Al-hamdu lillah kathiran taiyiban mubarakan fihi ghaira makfiy wala muwada' wala mustaghna'anhu Rabbuna." [Al-Bukhari] THE ETIQUETTES OF EATING AND DRINKING (Continued....)Slide 64: MISTAKE #10 FORGET THANKING ALLAH N arrated By Abu Umama: Whenever the Prophet (Peace be upon him) finished his meals (or when his dining sheet was taken away), he used to say. "Praise be to Allah Who has satisfied our needs and quenched our thirst. Your favour cannot by compensated or denied." Once he said, “praise be to You, O our Lord! He said, 'Lowering your gaze, refraining from harming others, returning greeting, and enjoining what is good, and forbidding what is evil.” [Muslim] THE ETIQUETTES OF THE ROADSlide 68: MISTAKE HARMING OTHERS Chapter : Easing is forbidden in the streets and under the shade. A bu Huraira reported: The Messenger of Allah (may peace be upon him) said: Be on your guard against two things which provoke cursing. They (the companions present there) said: Messenger of Allah, what are those things which provoke cursing? He said: Easing on the thoroughfares or under the shades (where they take shelter and rest). I ndeed in the Messenger of Allâh (Muhammad [sal-Allâhu 'alayhi wa sallam]) you have a good example to follow for him who hopes for (the Meeting with) Allâh and the Last Day, and remembers Allâh much. A shepherdess used to come by his hermitage for grazing her sheep and she gave birth to a child. A nas reported that Allah's Messenger (Peace be upon him) breathed three times (outside the vessel) in the course of a drink and said: It is more thirst-quenching, healthier and more wholesome. Anas said: So I also breathe three times in the course of a drink.
