Patrick Burns after receiving his law degree, ran a private practice in Auburn and worked as an independent lawyer for almost twenty years with specialization in Criminal Defense, Family Law and Civil Litigation. After that, he was selected as a Presiding Judge at Auburn Municipal Court which was a full time elective position. He is a diligent member of a number of committees and associated with many organizations. He was also a member of Washington State Therapeutic Courts Committee, DMCJA Court rules Committee and Washington State Center for Court Research Board. He has also worked on several projects like Inter-jurisdictional Warrant Quashing Project and Substance Abuse providers Standards Project and is currently is working as a Pro Tem Judicial Officer in Kent and Kirkland Municipal Courts.

He received Bachelor’s degree in History from the University of Washington and later joined School of Law at the University of Puget. He then enrolled in Washington State Judicial College and also studied General Jurisdiction at National Judicial college to further enhance his knowledge and excel in the field.
