Reason For Fast :

Reason For Fast Is not this the fast that I have chosen…your healing shall spring forth speedily. (Isa. 58:6,8). We must realize that it is God who heals (Exodus 15:26). As therapy when we are sick and need healing. As prevention to keep us from becoming sick or getting a disease.

Preventive Healing :

Exodus 15 Promise of divine protection to keep His people from becoming sick, rather than just “prescriptive” healing. Ex 15:26 And said, If thou wilt diligently hearken to the voice of the LORD thy God, and wilt do that which is right in his sight, and wilt give ear to his commandments, and keep all his statutes, I will put none of these diseases upon thee, which I have brought upon the Egyptians: for I am the LORD that healeth thee. Preventive Healing

Preventive Healing :

Example Old Tesament laws prohibited eating blood and animal fat. Le 3:17 It shall be a perpetual statute for your generations throughout all your dwellings, that ye eat neither fat nor blood. Medical research shows that bacteria and disease reside primarily in blood and fat. Preventive Healing

Preventive Healing :

Daniel Fast withholds extra rich foods such as “finger food” “party food” and desserts. Those who enter the Daniel Fast eat only necessities: Cleanse the digestive system Renew the system Preventive Healing

Curative Healing :

Curative Healing God promised prescriptive healing can come by faith and prayer. Jas 5:15 And the prayer of faith shall save the sick, and the Lord shall raise him up

Healing through Fasting :

God has placed within our body the ability to heal itself. Doctors and surgery remove the disease or germs and the body heals itself. Our Body Is The temple of the Holy Spirit 1Co 6:19 …know ye not that your body is the temple of the Holy Ghost which is in you. A person who eats a proper diet at the proper time in the proper way will be healthy. Healing through Fasting

Background of Daniel Fast :

Background of Daniel Fast Daniel had been taken into captivity with his three friends and were being trained as diplomats in the Babylonian government. They were ordered to eat the kings meat and they refused and ate only vegetables and water. Daniel 1:5, 12 Da 1:5 And the king appointed them a daily provision of the king's meat, and of the wine which he drank: so nourishing them three years, that at the end thereof they might stand before the king. Da 1:12 Prove thy servants, I beseech thee, ten days; and let them give us pulse to eat, and water to drink.

The Prescription for the Fast :

The Prescription for the Fast Be Specific The kings food was against Jewish Dietary Laws. Daniel had taken vow to not take wine that was included. Kings food has been offered to idols. Two Principles Daniel felt it was a spiritual test. (Daniel 1:8) Daniel had had a strong physical body in which he could serve the Lord.

The Prescription for the Fast :

The Prescription for the Fast 2. Fast as a Spiritual Commitment It consists more than just a diet adjustment. It involves a commitment to God. Those who have a weight problem or other medical problems may not solve it by just physical adjustments. Da 1:8 But Daniel purposed in his heart that he would not defile himself with the portion of the king's meat, nor with the wine which he drank: 3. Reflect Inner Desire by Outer Discipline Many have a desire to better health but don’t have the discipline to avoid the junk food.

The Prescription for the Fast :

The Prescription for the Fast 4. Fast as a statement of Faith to Others Heb 11:1 Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen. Affirming what God has said in His word. Daniel told the overseer to compare them to those who ate the kings meat. Learn the Effects of the food you eat. Study proper nutrition and diet. Proper diet will help a person live longer.

The Prescription for the Fast :

The Prescription for the Fast Yield of Results to God. Daniel submitted himself to the consequences of his convictions. Daniels conviction was based on his faith and trust in God. Deal with possibility of the Fast’s Failure. Don’t stop your fast early. Realize some diseases are so advanced that healing may be less likely. Remember, all healing is subject to the will of God.
