This is a wonderful Diaconate presentation. Precisely what I need to instruct the Diaconate at my church. Please help me to download this to a power-point presentation. I have been blessed by God through your gift of teaching and cannot wait to instruct existing Deacons and Deacons in training in my church. Thank you. With the love of Christ, Pastor Cecil Poe

The presentation was originally done as a powerpoint. Part of the reason I posted the presentation here was because it was much too large to distribute over the internet any other way. I could probably strip away the narration and sent you the bare powerpoint and then sent a text version of the talk. You could then use the powerpoint as a powerpoint and do your own narration borrowing from the text. If that will work for you let me know and we can work out the email addresses needed to pull this off.

Slide 12:

Describe any other images you can think of that might help to explain the nature of the diaconate. Theological images/metaphors reflect the cultural context in which they arise. The dominant context for deacons today is the United States. As the diaconate grows in other parts of the world and the US demographics shift to a greater Hispanic representation among US Catholics, can you anticipate any other images that may emerge?
