FLY ASH BRICKS:

FLY ASH BRICKS Fly ash bricks are building materials containing class c fly ash and water. Owing to high concentration of calcium oxide in class c fly ash, The brick is considered as “self-cementing”.

RAW MATERIALS:

RAW MATERIALS Raw material used for fly ash bricks are: Fly ash Sand or stone dust Lime Gypsum Cement These bricks are lighter than clay bricks.

ADVANTAGES:

ADVANTAGES Due to high strength, practically no breakage during transport and use. Due to uniform size of bricks, mortar required for joints and plaster reduces almost 50%. Due to lower water penetration , seepage of water through bricks reduced. These bricks do not required soaking in water for 24 hours. Only sprinkling of water before use is enough.

BRICKS PROPERTIES :

BRICKS PROPERTIES Appearance : bricks have a pleasing cement colour, uniform in shape and smooth, also, do not require plastering for building works. Thermal conductivity: is 0.90-1.05W/m2.they do not absorb heat, reflects it and gives max. light reflection. Sound insulation: it provides an acceptable degree of sound insulation.

PROPERTIES:

PROPERTIES Fire and vermin resistance: they have good fire rating. It has no problems of vermin attacks. Durability and moisture content: these blocks are highly durable. Water absorption is 6-12%, reducing dampness of the walls. Toxicity and sustainability: no toxicity, since fly ash changes into non-toxic product when mixed with lime. Thus, having potential as good building material.

STRUCTURAL CAPABILITY:

STRUCTURAL CAPABILITY These bricks provide advantages being available in several load-bearing grades and giving smart looking brickwork. High compressive strength eliminates breakages/wastages during transport and handling. Due to its comparable density, do not cause any extra load on structures and suitable for earthquake loads.

APPLICABILITY:

APPLICABILITY Blocks available in several load bearings grades used in: load bearing external walls, in low and medium size structures. Non-load bearing internal walls. Non-load bearing external or internal walls in high-rise buildings.

CONCLUSION:

CONCLUSION Due to all these reasons we should use fly-ash bricks.
