NOISE POLLUTION PROJECT NAME

PowerPoint Presentation:

PRESENTED BY VIVEK BATTISE NIKHIL PAWAR PANDURANG ADHAV

PowerPoint Presentation:

The noise pollution is defined as the unwanted sound which is released into the environment & It disturbs the human being . WHAT IS NOISE POLLUTION?

PowerPoint Presentation:

SOURCES OF NOISE POLLUTION 1. Industrial Sources 2. Non Industrial Sources 3. Automobiles 4. Trains 5. Uncontrolled use of loud speakers

PowerPoint Presentation:

1. INDUSTRIAL SOURCES In various industries, noise is produced during the process of energy conversion. Industries such as dairies, textile mills use big machines that run at a very high speed and cause noise pollution.

PowerPoint Presentation:

2. NON INDUSTRIAL SOURCES This source of noise pollution is considered to be most dangerous source as it affects human health. There is very little remedial measure that can be done to reduce its harmful effects.

PowerPoint Presentation:

3. AUTOMOBILES This is the main cause of concern in cities and may contribute to about 60 to 70% of total noise pollution in cities. This leads to very high vehicle densities, traffic congestion leading to noise pollution.

PowerPoint Presentation:

4. TRAINS Trains contribute to noise pollution, especially those running on diesel or stream. The main affected area is the residential area near the railway track.

PowerPoint Presentation:

5. UNCONTROLLED USE OF LOUD SPEAKERS In India no ceremony is complete without the use of loud speakers. The classic example is uncontrolled use of loud speakers in Pune city during Ganesh festival or Navratri.

PowerPoint Presentation:

HEALTH EFFECTS According to the USEPA, there are direct links between noise and health. Also, noise pollution adversely affects the lives of millions of people. Noise pollution can damage physiological and psychological health. High blood pressure, stress related illness, sleep disruption, hearing loss, and productivity loss are the problems related to noise pollution. It can also cause memory loss, severe depression, and panic attacks.

PowerPoint Presentation:

SOLUTIONS OF NOISE POLLUTION Planting bushes and trees in and around sound generating sources is an effective solution for noise pollution. Regular servicing and tuning of automobiles can effectively reduce the noise pollution. Buildings can be designed with suitable noise absorbing material for the walls, windows, and ceilings. Workers should be provided with equipments such as ear plugs and earmuffs for hearing protection.

PowerPoint Presentation:

SOLUTIONS FOR NOISE POLLUTION Similar to automobiles, lubrication of the machinery and servicing should be done to minimize noise generation. Soundproof doors and windows can be installed to block unwanted noise from outside. Regulations should be imposed to restrict the usage of play loudspeakers in crowded areas and public places. Factories and industries should be located far from the residential areas.

PowerPoint Presentation:

SOLUTIONS FOR NOISE POLLUTION Noise producing machines are substituted by quite machines. Reducing speed and pressure of rotating parts of a machine.
