EXAM: PA and lateral chest.
COMPARISON: None.
HISTORY: Chest pain.
FINDINGS: There is a large left pleural effusion with opacity in the left lower lung. Right basilar atelectasis is also present. In the right lung apex, there is a faint increased opacity overlying the anterior right first rib and clavicle. The cardiac and mediastinal contours are normal. There is no pneumothorax. The osseus structures are unremarkable.
IMPRESSION:
1. Large left pleural effusion with associated multifocal pneumonia in the left lower lung and right lung apex
2. Bibasilar atelectasis.
