A year later the company’s net earnings where $ 1.5 million and the product was being sold in 31 countries What Bette Clair's did with her fortune : What Bette Clair's did with her fortune With her fortune she set up two foundations to help women in need Gihon Foundation The Bette Clair McMurray Foundation End of her carrier : End of her carrier In 1979, she sold her company to the Gillette Corporation for $47.5 million. A year later she passed away at the age of 56. As of this writing, her son Michael continues to contribute to the operations of her charitable causes.
