Oasis has allowed me to fully be who I am because of the deep level of acceptance of each person – who they are and where they are in life. It opened me to a deeper relationship with the divine and additionally, to relationships with persons who actually live as though they know that they carry a spark of the divine within them. ~ Fern Gaffey

My Oasis passion shows immediately in signs I can recognize in the eyes of those I touch inside and outside the boundaries of faith or religion. I become Oasis to those I meet, but I don’t realize it until that Spirit looks back at me. ~ Loraine Johnson

Oasis has given me an opportunity to experience contemplative practices within a small community of colleagues. My experience of having a spiritual director has encouraged me to spiritually direct others. Oasis is a good teacher, giving opportunities to be with others and preparing participants to listen and sit with others needing a safe place and person to listen. ~ Kathy Spitzer

My need for sharing on a deep and authentic level is enormous and goes unmet in most places. I have come to recognize the truth of “those who lose their life will find it;” as I have seen Christ in others I have found my own deepest truth. My passion was heightened by a phone call from Alaska. The message: “I’m ___. I’m living in Alaska and will be moving to Pittsburgh in September. I’ll be looking for a spiritual direction. I was wondering if we could meet.” After I hung up, I began to think of the passion this man must have and I came away changed.Passion for depth is contagious! ~ Mike Allwein

Oasis is a vehicle for spending time with God, often in nature, and connecting with God, yourself and others in ways not easily experienced in every day life. Step away. Step into silence.
