slide 1: E-Waste Management With Take
Back System
Buckling Of For A Big Change
This is indeed going to be a
big change if our electronic
recycling services incorporate
take back policies. Electronics
that have come to the end of
their life cycle become
unusable. But nobody says
that they cannot be put to use
again with the help of the right
procedures and additional
components. There are
several parts of an electronic
item that can be renewed or
repurposed despite the fact
that the end user has
discarded them as obsolete
or unusable. Several ITAD
services in the city are considering take back policies and re-collection
system to ensure safe disposal and recycling of electronic components
produced every year.
By definition any electronic equipment that is discarded by the user is
considered electronic waste regardless of whether it can be reused or not
or remains operational in part or becomes completely non-operational.
slide 2: What Is A Take Back System
Take back system is a primary channel established by manufacturer with
the help of reputable electronic recycle services and ITAD companies
that aims to reduce the production of e-waste and prevent non usable
electronic components and items from ending up in the nearest landfill. The
take back system is an idea that is going to require significant contribution
from manufacturers because at the end of the life cycle of an electronic
item the producers will be responsible for taking back their products and
repurposing them to produce new and better versions of them. This is
going to reduce the environmental impacts of the business on the planet. It
will also increase their efficiency and lower their overall manufacturing
costs.
There are several products such as automobiles electronics batteries
charging cables and packaging products as well that can be put under the
umbrella of a take back system. Businesses should be able to find
tremendous economic value if they are able to pull this off efficiently. In
comparison recycling such products is much more efficient and cost-
effective than manufacturing them from scratch.
Needless to mention this take back system is also going to assist
municipalities and government organizations by lowering their overall waste
disposal costs.
The Take Back System Can Be Split Up Into The Following:
• Take back system ensured by store retailer
• Take back system implemented by the producer
slide 3: Both these can be done for two purposes which are recycling and
remanufacturing.
Recycling creates an end product which is easily recyclable equipment that
does not put a burden on our ecological system.
Remanufacturing results in products that are made out of the materials
extracted from obsolete electronic items enabling the manufacturer to save
more than 80 of their usual energy spent on producing goods.
This take back system if implemented well should be able to help us fight
the problem of e-waste globally.
