NOT ENOUGH WORDS CAN BE SAID FOR SUCH A MAN. HE WAS TRULY A MAN OF GOD AND WE CERTAINLY LOST A DEAR BROTHER AND FRIEND WE ALL CAME TO KNOW AND LOVE! PASTOR ROBERT “JR.” PERDUE and RITASlide 3: Brother Alonzo’s passing is all a part of God’s plan! Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me all the days of my life: and I will dwell in the house of the LORD for ever! Psalm 23:6Slide 4: Psalm 1:1, 2, 3 ~~ BLESSED is the man that walketh not in the counsel of the ungodly, nor standeth in the way of sinners, nor sitteth in the seat of the scornful. But his delight is in the law of the Lord; and in his law doth he meditate day and night. And he shall be like a tree planted by the rivers of water, that bringeth forth his fruit in his season; his leaf shall not wither; and whatsoever he doeth shall prosper. HE WAS A SPECIAL PERSON AND A GREAT INSPIRATION TO US. BROTHER ALONZO WILL FOREVER BE IN OUR HEARTS AND WE HAVE FOND MEMORIES OF HIM ~~~ THROUGH HIS PREACHING OF GOD’S WORD, BAPTIZING MANY, LENDING A HELPING HAND, OR JUST BEING “THERE.” HE TAUGHT US ALL SOMETHING. EARLIER DAYS ~ HOPKIN’S FORK COMMUNITY CHURCH DO YOU RECOGNIZE ANYONE?Slide 12: In September of 1937 Hopkin’s Fork Community Church was founded by Gatha and Rockford A. Halstead. The church meetings were first held in the Laurel Creek School building with around 41 in attendance. By Jan. of 1938 there were approx. 102 coming. On Oct. 17, 1946 Paul & Gertrude Sebok donated the land on which the “old” church stood. A building fund was established with donations made by Rockford Halstead, Lonnie Adkins, and Willard “Bowser” Hubbard. The church building was completed in 1947.Slide 13: Many people have come to Hopkins Fork Community Church over the years. Pictured here is Mary Santonia and her daughter who have gone on to be with the Lord. Mary was a member of this church, along with many others who have passed away and missed by all of us. Sister Mary blessed many here with her kind words and beautiful smile. Another, Sister Zell who passed away. She taught us so much and her love and dedication for the Lord was great. There are too many to mention but Brother Alonzo was a part of everyone’s life who attended church here or those who just knew him.
