What was it used for originally? The early Canadian tribes were one of the first to use the toboggan, they mainly used them for transportation purposes in the winter! It started out as a piece of whale bone , then a plank of wood and finally what we have today. This is a picture of a toboggan used by the early Canadian tribe.

More toboggans originally? In the 1880s it spread to the U.S.A and neighboring countries. It was very popular until the 1930s when the skis were invented.

What it is used for today? The toboggan is used as a fun entertaining toy We also use it to move heavy or awkward objects. Toboggans come in all sizes such as, small, large, medium.
Would life be different without it?:
Would life be different without it? Yes, life would different because the toboggan is and was used for moving heavy objects. If the toboggan was never invented some heavy objects would have never been moved and in the winter it wouldn’t be very fun.
