Premium member Presentation Transcript Slide 2: Name: Papaya plant Locality: 4th ledge from the way down the land bridge Description: leaf arrangement: whorled leaf type: simple palmate venation leaf shape: palmately lobed 2ft high This particular plant has no flowers or fruits yet Occurs singly Habitat: near the stone ledge, alone, no other plants immediately beside it Slide 3: Name: Birds of Paradise (genus Strelitzia) Locality: center of the site, at lowest point. Description: Red already wilting flowers Very tall around 8 or more feet In a large group, clumped together Sheathing leaves from the stem trunkless long petiole rising directly from the crown which is at the soil surface. Habitat: Partly shaded by trees on one side, creek water passed through here (occurs during the rainy seasons) Slide 4: Name: (species name still to be verified) Locality: In line with steps going down stairs, occurs on that level only Description: Flower and subtending bract inflorescence: Catkin (flower droops over) Leaves full of holes from insect eating activities.
