Jordan’s education system ranks number 1 in the Arab world and one of the highest in the developing world ( UNESCO 2009, World Bank 2008) Jordan is a top performer in education among 14 MENA countries. (World Bank report, February 2008.) Jordan has the third lowest illiteracy rate in the Arab world (8.9%) The gross school enrolment ratio equal to 98.2% (UNESCO 2006) Transition ratio to secondary schools = 97% (UNESCO 2006) (Higher than region by 25%)

Jordanian Education System A 13 Year comprehensive education program divided into two cycles 1- Elementary: runs from grades KG1 to 10 Free and compulsory for all Jordanian 2- Secondary: two year cycle divided into two main streams Academic and Vocational Grades 11 & 12 Age of entry 5 Age of exit 18
