Slide 2:
In the past few years, more and more people are reporting that they believe a child is being abused or neglected. More and more children need to be protected. It is reported that only one in ten child abuse cases is ever reported to authorities.
Slide 3:
There are many forms of child abuse, including physical, psychological, and sexual. These forms are rarely separate. Where one is present the others are too. Child abuse causes long term psychological and physical problems to a child. Problems such as depression, anxiety, and physical pain in various areas of the body. Since the abuse is rarely reported, these problems last throughout a child’s entire life.
Slide 4:
Most people believe that child abuse is inflicted by strangers, someone the child doesn’t know. This is the biggest myth concerning child abuse. Child abuse is almost always inflicted by someone close to the child. A relative, a neighbour, but most of the time, by the child’s own parents.
Slide 5:
IT SHOULD NEVER HURT TO BE A CHILD.
Slide 6:
STOP THE ABUSE If you suspect any form of child abuse in your neighbourhood, don’t turn a blind eye. Break the silence. Contact the authorities and help these innocent children from abuse.
