AdWords Optimisation – What to Do With ‘Click-Happy’ Competitors When doing some AdWords optimisation, you need to take a look at your expenses as well. You might be getting some results but is the price you’re paying worth it? If you’re looking to lessen your expenses, one thing you can do is to prevent other people – specifically your competition – from over clicking your advertisements. Here’s what you will need. You will need the domains of your top and suspected “click-happy” competitors. And then, you will need a domain to IP converter. They take a look at the ads that appear or their keywords and jot down those domains.

All you need to do is to look for them online. The next step in this AdWords optimisation technique is to “exclude” or block those IP addresses. To do this, you need to open you account.

All you need to do is go to your Campaign Management tab. From the menu, select Tools. Then, proceed by clicking IP Exclusion. This is the tab where you can post those IP addresses. At the moment, you can only exclude up to 20 addresses. Confirm the action and there you go. There are now 20 computers that will not be able to view your ads. They also won’t be able to click your ads because they can’t see them. This AdWords optimisation style is often used to prevent “click-happy” competition from causing unwanted clicks but you can also use it to avoid being scouted and copied.
