1. Stallion - a mature male horse that can reproduce.

2. Mare - a mature female horse over 4 years old.

3. Foal - a young horse of either gender that is still with it's mother.

4. Filly - a young female horse under 4 years old.

5. Colt - a young male horse under 4 years old.
