Introduction A good sales manager motivates and leads the sales force, while at the same time seeing to it that the goal and purpose of sales organization and its ownership are being met. A good sales manager commands with authority, but in a way that draws respect rather then contempt.

Service, service, service A sales manager should always listen to the customers. A good sales manager should know and also make his staff aware that”A sales person should know what is in customer’s mind they must know their wants and desires.”

Training or leading : 

Training or leading A regular basic sales training should be provided. It is needed so the sales people don’t tend to forget anything and get updated with reference to time.

Delegation of Work : 

Delegation of Work Work is to be delegated (divided) among everyone. The delegation should be clear and work should be checked daily

Self Confidence : 

Self Confidence The sales manager should be confident of the work he is doing. He should have positive attitude towards things, which would further help to motivate and guide the employees.

Goals planning and Measuring Success First of all goal and target is to be decided. By having this the team can be directed. Second the big goal is to be cut in chunks. This will help the team to feel confident and manageable. They should to be told to prioritize 5 tasks everyday and focus on subsequent task until it gets completed.
